SIS 2010 Cardiology Nurse/Tech Symposium

The 8th Annual SIS Cardiology Nurse/Tech Symposium offers a comprehensive, in-depth educational experience for Registered Nurses, ARNPs, PA-Cs, Cath Lab Technicians, and other healthcare professionals who manage cardiovascular patients in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, operating room, ICU, CCU, telemetry and associated areas.

New for SIS

With the overwhelming success of the 2009 Symposium, the planning committee has added an additional evening session to the agenda. On Thursday, April 22nd, a limited number of attendees (50) will have the opportunity to work with local expert faculty who will review cardiac anatomy and physiology. Attendees will participate in a hands-on dissection of pig hearts in the state-of-the-art BioSkills Lab at the Seattle Science Foundation.

On Friday, April 23rd the symposium will feature didactic presentations, four BioSkills sessions to choose from, and case presentations.  Each BioSkills session will feature updates and demonstrations on the advances in interventional and surgical technologies and techniques using cadaveric specimens (including peripheral artery anatomy, cerebrovascular anatomy, prosthetic valves – aortic and mitral valve repair and replacement; PFO, ASD; and a display and demonstration of numerous devices and stents used in interventional and cardiovascular surgery).  Those attendees unable to participate in the Thursday evening anatomy and physiology review will have the opportunity during each BioSkills Session to be guided through a pig dissection with expert faculty.

We invite you to take this opportunity to learn about the most recent advances in cardiovascular care, devices, and technologies. This symposium provides an ideal venue to congregate with your colleagues, share clinical experiences, and exchange new ideas and information, which are essential for the proper care and treatment of the cardiovascular patient.
